When we first saw Beaumont, the locally quarried granite made a stunning impression. The allure of renovating such a historical home was too much to resist. We fell in love with the Flat Rock area, as well. Flat Rock is close to numerous attractions. Biltmore House, Cherokee, and Pigeon Forge all make great day-trips. The changing seasons are wonderful to witness on a hike or camping trip in the Pisgah National Forest. Places to snow ski are in close proximity.
At the end of a day spent exploring the area, it's nice to return to the front porch and enjoy the cool mountain breeze. There is always something to do with a tennis court & pool on the property.
Beaumont is a great home for entertaining. The formal dining room, back deck, and well-landscaped grounds provide ample spaces for a large group. We enjoy working on the perennial garden beside the quaint ice house, shopping downtown for antiques, and reading on the front porch.

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Elevations range from 2,240 feet at Cascade Lake to 3,620 feet at the peak of Stone Mountain. Little River runs through the forest, with four major waterfalls along its course. The forest also contains five lakes. The largest is 99-acre Lake Julia. The forest has over 80 miles of roads and trails that are shared by hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians.

It is also home of the first school of forestry in the United States, now preserved at the Cradle of Forestry in America historic site, and boasts two of the first designated wilderness areas in the east. The Pisgah, Grandfather and Appalachian Ranger Districts are scattered along the eastern edge of the mountains of western North Carolina and offer visitors a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation and enjoying the natural beauty of the mountains.
