As an artist it is the creative energy of Asheville that most attracts me. As a volunteer Docent at the Asheville Art Museum I have made close friends with sole mates that have relocated to Asheville from all over the United States and some foreign countries. Asheville's rich and diverse history as well as it's many architectural gems make walking the Asheville city streets a source of never ending pleasures. What a great little city I will truly miss living here.

For a city it's size Asheville has a wealth of great restaurants some you could even call world class. However, tne of our favorite dining spots is also very nearby. It called Pomadoros. Other favorites in Asheville are, Chestnut, LaStrada, Posana and Nonamea in West Asheville. For Breakfast you can never go wrong eating at Early Girl on Wall Street or Sunny Side on Haywood Road in W. Asheville (voted the second best breakfast in the USA by Good Morning America).

Grocery stores are plentiful with the most convent being our local Ingles. But for great variety we have Trader Joes, Earth Fare, Green Life, Harris Teeter and I see that a giant Whole Foods store is under construction across from the Asheville Mall.
The peaceful private setting of our house. The close proximity to downtown Asheville. The many hiking trails right outside our back door. The economical geothermal heating and air conditioning system. The flow of the floor plan, the beautiful outdoor setting and the feeling of seclusion on our property yet while still being in a community with neighbors nearby. Privacy, privacy, privacy and did I mention privacy.
Where do I start! The natural beauty of Western North Carolina. The charm, culture and sophistication of the great little city of Asheville. The climate is ideal, a long Spring and a long Fall. what more more would you want. No mosquitoes to speak of. The culture available in the area is very impressive. Live theater, a symphony orchestra, third best Art Museum in North Carolina, shindig-on-the green in the summer, Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands at the civic center twice a year, UNCA, ABTech, first class health care, Doctors, Mission Hospital. I'm running out of space but I expect you get the idea. Asheville is a great place to live,
A few other things .... Art, crafts, artists, craft people, the Art Museum, Flat Rock Theater, Asheville Community Theater, waterfalls, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the clear air, the mountains and the good drinking water.
Most of my interests fall into the area of creativity such as Painting, carving, wood working, gardening, stone work, writing, touring with school groups at the Art Museum.
Eastmoor is a little know gem of a neighborhood just 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. As one approaches the entrance to our community driving along the Swannanoa River it has the look and feel of being way out in the country, yet you are just minutes from the heart of Asheville. Eastmoor roads are a great place to walk. But for a serious hiker there are access points within our community to the many Warren Wilson College hiking trails. We also have many interesting and hospitable neighbors that make for enjoyable social gatherings year round. But best of all Eastmoor is a quiet and beautiful place to live.

One of the things I love about this area is the lifestyle that Asheville and Western North Carolina offers. So much creativity and art.  I also love the short distance to downtown Asheville from our house. When I feel the need for city life it is a 15 minute drive to downtown. Then I come back 15 minutes to Leicester to my quiet country retreat.
We love to eat at Carmel's restaurant. Our favorite place to eat is the Sunny Pointe Cafe. They have the best breakfast around! Yoshida's has been a family tradition as well for our birthdays. Papa's Pizza located here in Leicester has amazing take out for the crazy hectic I don't feel like cooking days.
Leicester has a newer Ingles grocery store. The managers are so friendly. They have a large selection of specialty items as well as organic items. The baristas at the Starbucks located inside the store are the best baristas around!

15 minutes away on Merrimon Avenue there is a Fresh Market, Harris Teeter and Earth Fare. Sams is located 10 minutes away off of Patton Avenue.
When we bought the property we were drawn to welcoming feel when you come around the corner into the circle drive. The location of the house at the end of the street makes you feel like it is your own private road. The setting is somewhat rural but close to everything.

The lower area of the property is perfect for gardening. The property is easy to maintain with so much potential. I love to sit by the creek on warm nights. The house is very bright with tons of storage.

When it snows I am never stranded in this development. The roads are maintained quickly. The way the house is positioned, I get the morning sun so the drive way and road melts quickly.
The drive time to the school was an important factor for us. We are 4 miles to the school and to the grocery store.
The Asheville area is wonderful because you have so much to do at your finger tips. The most amazing restaurants, sidewalk cafes, arts and crafts, theatres and concerts. Downtown has the cutest eclectic shops to visit. Asheville always has something going on for the family to do. We are located near some of the most amazing hiking trails and waterfalls. We love to take the motorcycle out and ride the back roads in Leicester and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We frequent the Biltmore Estate about once or twice a month.
A few other things that I can mention is watching the sunrise from the front porch. On those cold mornings I pull all the blinds open and I can watch the sun come up from my master bedroom or the living room. It fills the entire front side of the house with warm orange and yellow colors. This property has so many neat "sit and capture the moment spots".
Our family enjoys the life that Western North Carolina has to offer us.
We are centrally located in Leicester. We have the semi rural living in Leicester but close to everything.

The Greenville Airport is 1.5 hours away. Charlotte Airport is 2 hours away. Cherokee Indian Reservation is a 40 minute ride west. Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia are all about 1-2 hours drive time with tons of things to see and do.

In the spring everything is blooming and there are tons of fresh markets going on to buy fresh herbs, soaps and goodies. In the summer tubing down the rivers, motorcycle rides on the blue ridge hiking and the waterfalls. Riding our horses. The fall holds so many festivals you cant see them all. The apple Festival in Hendersonville is a must! The seasons are all amazing.
Our neighborhood is great for families. It is so quiet and safe in this neighborhood. When you are out walking, you see families in their yards or on their porch. Everyone waves and says hello.
