The things I love about my town are the mountain views and the proximity to both Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Asheville. Maggie Valley is such a beautiful, quiet, peaceful place--seemingly out of the way but within a 15-30 minute drive to so many wonderful things.

We like to go into Waynesville, which has a lot of great restaurants. Asheville is also a wonderful place to visit for good food. In Maggie Valley, we like taking friends to Joey's Pancake House and J. Arthur's Restaurant

We would go into Waynesville (Ingles) for our groceries, which is about 10-15 minutes away. If we needed to make a quick run for something, we could go to the gas station at the bottom of the hill from our house.

We wanted to be in the mountains, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We also liked the style of the house--rustic and simple.

We love this area! We love the outdoors and being close to the National Park, Pisgah National Forest, the Appalachian Trail, etc. We also enjoy the arts, culture, and good food available in Asheville. A few other things I can mention are Cherokee, which is a great place to bring friends who are visiting, and Waynesville, which is a great little town where we had many friends when we lived in Maggie Valley. The HART Theatre is a wonderful, close resource for arts entertainment. There are also many golf clubs in the area.

One of my favorite nearby places is Lake Junaluska. I am a runner/walker, and I spent many hours running and walking around that beautiful, peaceful lake. It's one of the things I miss most about living in Maggie Valley.

We enjoy hiking and being so close to so many beautiful trails that others come from all over the U.S. to hike.

Our neighborhood is great for sitting on the porch and looking at the mountains. At our house, we always enjoyed having friends over for parties on the deck. The weather in summer is so mild--no mosquitoes!

The utility costs are normal, and the fireplace is most enjoyable.

The things I like about Waynesville, NC are the small town hassle free environment nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains, beautiful Lake Junaluska, nearby Asheville, NC, the agreeable climate and inexpensive property tax.

I like to eat at too many restaurants in Asheville to list. It's a food mecca. In Waynesville, Frogs Leap Public House and Boojum Brewing Company can be counted on for good food.

Asheville, only half an hour away, has excellent groceries, including Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Aldi, Publix, Harris Teeter, Fresh Market and many local vendors. Waynesville, Asheville and Sylva to the west have warm weather farmers' markets, and Waynesville has Ingles and rumors of a new Publix.

I was primarily drawn to the scenery and a house worth enhancing. This property affords an excellent unobstructed view of the mountains, unencumbered by other houses, although there are two adjacent ones. It is surrounded by woods but open and sunny, and it is very private and pastoral even though town is less than four miles away.

Nearby Asheville is one of the most popular cities in the country. I like the easy mobility, outstanding natural views, and stressless lifestyle of a smaller town like Waynesville, which is close enough to the city's conveniences but devoid of traffic and higher taxes. There are universities on either side of Waynesville and easy access to hiking trails and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Other things I can mention are Lake Junaluska, always open to the public for walking, boating, tennis and other sports. The Hart Theatre and Western Carolina University produce exceptionally good theatrical productions. Haywood Community College offers classes in adult education. There are no mosquitoes at my property but lots of birds.

Since I like hiking, I appreciate the fast, easy access to trails. I also like traditional music. This area is home ground to old time and blue grass musicians.

The neighborhood is great for sensational views, privacy, natural surroundings, wildlife, and close proximity to town.

Utility costs are reasonable. Duke Energy provides electricity; I buy propane from Edisto Gas.

The things we love about Waynesville are it's charming main street area of shops, galleries and restaurants.

We love to eat at The Sweet Onion Restaurant and The Chef's Table restaurants near the main street area of Waynesville and also, Frankie's Italian Trattoria in Maggie Valley. We also love to go to Asheville often and explore new restaurants there as it is only a 30 minute drive for us.

Waynesville offers the largest and most complete of all Ingles supermarkets in the area. As a matter of fact, it is the top Ingles markets in terms of sales. A much anticipated Publix supermarket is also in the plans to open up within the near future across from the existing Ingles supermarket. There are little to no wait times at the post offices and banks - time is really plentiful when you do not need to stand in line to run errands.

This home caught our attention for our growing family as it had the most level large lot we had seen and by far the best in the entire subdivision. We were captivated by the views and the luxurious feel inside this lovely home and the attention to detail given when constructed. It shows that lots of planning was done when designing this home. Another feature we loved was the incredible amount of storage space - roomy closets throughout and the hardwood floors and double-paned windows and sliding glass doors. Another aspect which was very important for us was how private the property was yet very convenient to I-40. We also loved the paved roads and very affordable association dues at just $365 flat fee annually.

We love the privacy and peace provided by this setting to live here year-round with the breathtaking views of the mountains, 4 distinct seasons and great schools for our children. We have very close access to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for hiking, picnics, and viewing wildlife. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also a beautiful drive offering scenery you can't find anywhere else. We are just 30 minutes from Asheville and 20 miles from the Tennesee border so visiting other charming towns like Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in a day is something we enjoy doing often.

A few other things we can mention are that although our house was hooked up to a shared well when we purchased it, we invested in drilling our own PRIVATE WELL to be independent from sharing a well. We pay no water fees whatsoever and we have wonderful spring water from our well. We also paved our 2-level driveway and have always maintained this house very well. We have a whole house water filtration system and purchased brand new stainless steel kitchen appliances in August 2015 and a new water heater in August 2016.

As far as another positive about the area that we liked is the access to many medical providers and particularly the new Mission Hospital's state of the art medical building recently inaugurated in Clyde (just a 10 minute drive) for primary care and specialists.

We enjoy hiking within our subdivision, exploring the outdoors, trying out new restaurants and traveling.

Our subdivision is great for tranquility and privacy and wonderful to raise a family. It also offers us many opportunities to view all sorts of beautiful wildlife and awesome sunrises and sunsets.

Our average monthly electric bill is about $200 HOWEVER we are not the typical household because one of us works from home and has the A/C running non-stop during the warm months and the heating on during the colder months. If we opened windows and did not turn on the A/C or heating throughout the day our electric cost would be substantially less.
