Asheville is just a great place to live and raise a family, not to mention the wonderful, vibrant downtown and outdoor opportunities. Between hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, river tubing outdoor opportunities abound.   

Great restaurants are plentiful and there's always something interesting going on. Ambrosia, Moe's BBQ, La Carreta and Marco's Pizza are just a few of the close restaurants we frequent and these are all just within a mile of the house.  If you go further, the options expand exponentially.  

Grocery stores are close and plentiful. The Fresh Market and Ingles are both very close, literally just a minute down the road. A little further down Merrimon Avenue are a Harris Teeter and Trader Joes.  The Ace Hardware, just a mile away, is very nice and convenient, saving you from having to drive further to a big box hardware store. When that's needed however, there's a Lowes just 10 minutes away.  

We bought this house because we love the older, established neighborhood, the proximity to Beaver Lake and grocery stores and the fact that it's very convenient to US 19/31 (I-26) which can get to to many other places quickly.  

The house is also on a quiet, private, flat lot with a large, double wide driveway. Asheville is quite simply, a wonderful place to live. Having lived in a number of other places large and small, we feel very fortunate to be in Asheville, NC! Wonderful weather, people, activities, food and of course, beer!  

Asheville is a perfect blend of small town and vibrant city. There are many things to do in Asheville! Two outdoor activities that come to mind are mountain biking and paddle boarding on the local lakes and French Broad River. We love the neighborhood. It's quite, the people are friendly and it's great if you love to get exercise by walking or running.
