Seller Says:

"The town of Hendersonville is truly a showplace of small town living in the south.  The mixture of historic buildings and vibrant retail establishments separates it from most towns of its size anywhere in the nation.  A walk down our tree lined Main Street during the day or early evening, and in any season, shows that gracious small town living in America need not be a thing of the past.  With an abundance of great eateries and art galleries; fine clothing boutiques, jewelers, fine antique emporiums and curiosity shops of all varieties, Hendersonville is alive and well.  As for staples, we have a full range of grocery locations.  Everything from average fare to the finest in gourmet and organic foods to curb markets with locally grown produce   And best of all, we can be there with a short ten minute drive.  And should we ever tire of the charms of Hendersonville, a fifteen minute drive in the other direction takes us to the equally quaint town of Brevard.

Culturally speaking, Hendersonville boasts a fine symphony orchestra, and the Flat Rock Playhouse provides great entertainment with its diverse offerings. Outdoor concerts and street fairs are the norm during the summer months and the decorations put out for our wintertime holidays hold a candle to no one.

Our Mountain Valley neighborhood is lovingly maintained by a mix of friendly southern born natives and equally friendly retirees from across the nation who have been attracted by our low cost of living, our great mountain views and our regularly scheduled neighborhood activities.  Mountain Valley is a place where you know your neighbors by their first names.  You know their children and their pets and you look out for one another.  As a subdivision “in the country” we are secluded enough to experience the peace and quiet that one desires, and close enough to the “big city” of Asheville and all that it offers to be there in just twenty minutes if the mood strikes.  We are bordered by lush forests and the fertile French Broad River valley, and as former city dwellers we can tell you that we have found our little piece of paradise.

Western North Carolina is well known for its recreational opportunities and our home is ideally situated to take advantage of all that the area offers.  We can see the Appalachian Trail from our front porch, so hiking is one option.  For the fisherman, we are ten minutes away from one of the nation’s premier trout streams, the Davidson River, and within an hours drive there are literally thousands of miles of additional trout streams.  A twenty minute drive will put you into the heart of the DuPont State Forest with its 10,000 acres of forests, trails and waterfalls, and golfing is just minutes away with memberships available at the Cummings Cove and Etowah Country Clubs.

We were drawn to our home by its easy upkeep, its very livable floor plan, its wonderful Blue Ridge Mountain views and all that those beautiful mountains have to offer.  Facing the west, the views from our kitchen table rivals the finest postcard images as the sun sets over the mountains.  Our ground floor master bedroom had great appeal, along with the home’s entertainment potential with its spacious and very private backyard deck and patios.  Like a lot of folks, our family’s activities center around the kitchen.  With its comfortable sitting area and wonderful cabinet space, our very large and recently remodeled kitchen has all the amenities one would expect. The fully furnished and well lit downstairs area, with its full kitchen and bath has served us well as our den, our home office, our art studio and craft area.  And with its adjoining bedroom with outside entry, the entire lower level can serve as a wonderful and private in-law suite if the need arises."

SELLERS SAY....

The thing I love most about Asheville is that it is a vibrant town. There are many restaurants (local and chains), live music and theater productions nearly every weekend, and lots of festivals. There is always something to do here! It is also a beautiful place with mountain views around every curve and lots of hiking opportunities.

We love to eat at different places to try new things. There are many local restaurants, like Tupelo Honey Cafe and Doc Chey's Noodle House. There are also many chain restaurants like Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesday, and Bonefish Grill.

Bring the Hot Chocolate

There are a lot of grocery stores in this area! We have lots of Ingles, Bi-Lo, Harris Teeter and 3 Walmart stores close by. There are 2 Earth Fare markets close by as well.

Stunning Kitchen
When we bought this property we were looking for a retreat that was close to city conveniences. We were looking for the best of both worlds! We can enjoy the peace of the mountains and be in town for a dinner and a performance at the Civic Center in only a few minutes.

Grand Entry Way
Asheville is a wonderful area because it has breathtaking scenery. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs through Asheville with lots of hiking trails and scenic overlooks. Asheville also has long springs and falls - the weather is terrific! You can even watch as the fall colors begin high in the mountains (our backyard) and continue down into the city.
The colors of fall last well over a month!

The schools here are very good and there are a lot of art, theater, music and dance opportunities for the students. There are also local colleges for more advanced learning opportunities. AB Tech is a great community college and UNC-Asheville is also just downtown. Mars Hill College, Warren Wilson College, Montreat, and Brevard Colleges are also close by.

Really Is A Great Room!
We live near the top of Busbee Mountain, which can be accessed by the "long" side (Pinners' Cove Rd.) or the "short" side (Rose Hill Rd.). The "long" side (about 4 miles) has quick access to HWY. 26  and the airport. There are also a lot of churches and shopping centers. On the "short" side (about 2 miles), we are  just off of HWY. 240 (Exit 9) and HWY 40 (Exit 53A) near the Asheville Mall and downtown Asheville.    We are both professional musicians and we enjoy the many chances to play with groups here in Asheville. We love playing opera, symphony concerts, and chamber music recitals. We also enjoy the many parks and nature trails that allow us to enjoy the beautiful scenery up close.

Superb Views
We were surprised that our electric and gas bills were so low here in Asheville. Even with such a large home, the propane is about $200 a month and the electric is about the same. So much of the year we can keep the windows open and enjoy the mountain breezes! With a well, there are no monthly water bills.

Seller's say
"This is such a great location and we have really enjoyed living in this small community that is so close to everything.  For example, Natural Foods grocery store is just 2 miles away. Park Ridge Hospital is also 2 miles away, great for anyone getting up there in years! Ingles, Sams Club and Walmart is just 5 miles away. We like to eat at PF Changs, and we are 20 minutes away from Biltmore Park

Papas and Beer is also a favorite of ours which is just 5 minutes away, as well as the Best Western Mexican which is about 10 minutes. Airport Road is a great place to eat and shop, with lots of new "big box" stores. Just 10 minutes to the Asheville airport makes travel in and out for us and our relatives really easy. For someone that had to fly for work or work in the airport vicinity it would be a great location to live.

To give you an idea of where it is placed, downtown Hendersonville takes about 15 minutes in the car. Downtown Asheville takes about 25 minutes. For those who like a great fitness center, there is a brand new facility just 10 minutes from our home. Hendersonville Road cinemas and all the great supermarkets and conveniences are about 20 minutes' drive. "

Do you work in the Healthcare industry, Teaching, Police Force, as a Firefighter, or in the Military, retired or active? We will give you 25% off - whether you are Selling or Buying a home! This is equivalent to up to $1,500 on a $200,000 home! See MountainHomesForHeroes.com

MLS 507790 491 Lytle Cove Road Swannanoa, NC 28778 Patton Property Group

MLS 507790 491 Lytle Cove Road Swannanoa, NC 28778 Patton Property Group

The things I love about Swannanoa are how small it is..not overdeveloped but yet there are plenty of services available nearby. I also love the fact that there are no city taxes . I love to eat at Athens Pizza and Okie Dokie's BBQ in Swannanoa. Great food at a good price.

There are several grocery stores within a 5 - 10 minute drive. There is an Ingles in Swannanoa and Black Mountain with the Black Mountain store also having a Starbucks. There is also a Bilo in Black Mountain. Just down the road is Amazing Savings which is a great discount store where lots of organic, gluten free and other hard to find items are sold. I have lived on Lytle Cove Road most of my life. I like the property because it is centrally located to Asheville and Black Mountain. I have loved living at this property due to the quietness and beautiful views.

The Swannanoa Area is wonderful for families. It is still a small town but close enough to Asheville to enjoy the features of a big town.

A few other things that I can mention is that Charles D. Owen High School is very close...about a five minute drive. The primary and elementary school are located in Black Mountain which is about 5-10 minutes away. ArtSpace charter school and Asheville Christian Academy are also a 5-10 minute drive.

I love this property. If you are looking for Privacy in a beautiful natural setting this is the place for you.

This property is great for folks who like to explore and hike. Get to know the neighbors and more then likely they will welcome you on the property to hike. It is a very close drive to Black Mountain where you can also hike in Montreat or enjoy the Lake. Our neighborhood is great because everyone knows each other and everyone looks out for each other. The neighborhood is safe and I love seeing the wild Turkeys walking down the road in the mornings! 491 Lytle Cove Road, Swannanoa, NC 28778

My utility costs are not very high. I enjoy keeping my windows open in the Spring and Fall so those seasons tend to have the lowest costs of around $40 a month. In the summer my cost is still low even running the air, it usually is around $60 a month. Depending on how bad the winter is, the cost goes up a bit but it averages about $100 a month.

Sellers Say ......

I love the town of Hendersonville with its simple life and feel of community.  There always seems to be something going on for the family to do together and the people here are friendly and helpful.    Good food is never far away.  There is so much to choose from on Mainstreet, but some of my favorites are "A Day in the Country" where I can have a quaint lunch and meander around at the Country store and for a little more elegance "Season's Restaurant" at the Highland Lake Inn where they serve fresh, healthy and delicious meals.

There is no dilema on finding a place to grocery shop.  I love to hit them all depending on what I am searching for.  I can go to Sam's Club to buy in bulk, Ingles for when I need that quick trip and The Co-op Health Food Store for the things I can't live without.

I love the privacy of our property.  Though we are in a neighborhood, the way our land is situated and being at the end of a cald de sac, we are all alone.  We love to sit on the front porch or the back deck to have our morning coffee in our pajamas and we don't have to worry about anyone seeing us.  The only noise we seem to hear is the birds singing and the crickets chirping since there is acres and acres behind us.  However, that cup of borrowed sugar is just a quick walk up the road.

So many things attracted us to this area like the hiking, fishing, swimming and tubing in the river, but the scenery is breathtaking.  We love the mountains and waterfalls and the scenery is so different depending on the season.  We seem to be in the perfect location to travel just a short distance to many attractions and that is convenient when company comes to visit.

We love that we live in the West Henderson school district.  You will only hear good things about this school and their team spirit.  Our kids have loved it and have excelled in their sports program.  On the other hand, we have homeschooled our daughter and the homeschool support in this area is unsurpassed not only by the group but by the community.

We just love having all 4 seasons hear.  We don't get the cold, long, harsh winters of the north and there is not the smoldering hot summers of the south.  It is perfect all year round without the extreme of either.  There is nothing like seeing The Biltmore Estate in full bloom of its Azaleas or driving to the top of Mt. Pisgah to see the beautiful colors of the Autum leaves.

Our location of our home supports our interests in taking walks in the woods and finding all sorts of neat things for the kids to learn while we homeschooled.  Seeing the wild turkeys and deer just makes you feel a part of nature.  After crossing our covered bridge, the kids have their own play area to hang out on the trampoline or zip line away from the house.  And being the only house in the cald de sac makes for great extra space for parking, having parties, doing fireworks or playing a game of basketball.

Our neighborhood plans monthly events to try to keep us all connected as neighbors.  We have our Supper Club, Ladies Lunch Bunch, Neighborhood Meetings and a Book Club.  You will always see friendly neighbors keeping in shape with their daily walks.  Our block captains always keep us informed of any important or emergency infomation.

“I love Asheville because it has great arts and music, local markets, and University of NC at Asheville events. The four seasons are mild with a beautiful leaf season in the fall. The Biltmore House and Gardens, the NC Arboretum, and close proximity to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park which are favorites.
My favorite restaurants are Vincenzo's, Carmelas, Pappas and Beer, Carrabas, Barley's Pizza and Taproom, OutBack, Bonefish Grill, and Asheville Pizza and Brewing.

I usually shop at Ingles or BiLo grocery, but sometimes drive across town to the Fresh Market. I also go to the health food groceries Earth Fare and GreenLife. We were drawn to the acreage suitable for horses (which we had for a while) and gardening, and a country look and feel yet very close to town, shops and medical facilities. We have woods, a stream with small waterfalls, open pasture with a barn.

We're only 4 miles via the Blue Ridge Parkway to the VA Medical Center, and 10 miles to the Mission hospitals and surrounding doctors offices.

Asheville was featured on a TV special recently as one of the 10 most beautiful places to live in the US. People of many ethnic and political types live peacefully together. The crime rate is low, and medical care rivals that of medical school universities..

Asheville has great schools, a university, college for seniors and more.

For country living very close to an eclectic and dynamic small city, this location can't be beat. Although we have an Asheville address we are just outside the city limits so pay only county taxes.

Our interests on and near this property are hiking, golf, gardening, tree planting, and cruising the Parkway in our convertible.

We are in the country with only seven houses on our private road, yet we're right next to the Blue Ridge Parkway and only 3 miles from the Asheville Mall. Neighbors are friendly and look out for each other.

Our church has a gardening project they've done in our pasture. It's great to look out and see 10-20 volunteers growing food for the needy and the Food Bank on our land. “

Seller Says
"We love Asheville because there's always something new to do - outdoor activities like hiking, biking, boating, and visiting parks; cultural activities like theatre, live music, street festivals, and art gallery crawls; and great dining and nightlife. It's a true four-season destination: a cool refuge in the summer, a perfect base for immersion in fall color, a cozy destination for the holiday season, and a beautiful location to watch spring unfold.

Our favorite restaurants in walking distance include Bouchon for French cooking, Heiwa Shokudo for sushi, Cucina 24 and The Market Place for special dinners, and Tupelo Honey Cafe for Sunday brunch. Also needing a mention are Salsa's for a fun Caribbean meal, The Beer Garden for cozying up near the fire for a fortifying winter meal and drink, and Zambra's for a sophisticated meal of tapas. To say nothing of some fantastic places a short drive away, such as Rezaz and Fig in Biltmore Village. Better yet, many places offer the option of outdoor dining which is a beautiful way to appreciate the cool Asheville climate. And I have to mention French Broad Chocolates for a great place to spend an afternoon or an evening.
We shop for groceries at the French Broad Food Coop, which is in walking distance, and Greenlife when we need to stock up.

We were drawn to the home by its great layout (loft openness with a bedroom that can be closed off behind French doors for privacy), European flair, and corner location. There is no better way to end a day than with all the windows open, a cool breeze wafting through, and the muted sounds from Pack Square and Broadway providing a gentle background to a dinner conversation.
Asheville is a great location for the young and young-at-heart.  The sense of urban community, nestled among the natural wonders of the mountains, attracts a diverse and talented cross-section of individuals. The town has an energy that is hard to find anywhere else.
We appreciate having the public library so close, as well as several good bookstores. The rooftop garden is an unbeatable place to watch the July 4th fireworks, and a visit to Biltmore House during Christmas should be on anyone's itinerary.
Our interests and hobbies center around Asheville's natural wonders, including the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking trails that start from it; gardens including the Arboretum and Botanical Garden; and kayaking on the French Broad river and Lake Lure.
We are right in the heart of downtown, so we are steps from some of the best restaurants, art galleries, and performances on Pack Square. Favorites, if we had to try to narrow it down, include the Blue Spiral, Shindig on the Green and Downtown After 5. The Fine Arts Theatre is steps away, with a good selection of movies. The Asheville Community Theatre is close by as well - we've been happy to run into several of the actors, later, on the street or at local businesses. This list doesn't do the town justice of course; for many weekend visits, we park the car in the garage and don't move it until we leave for home.

The Sellers say:
The Cane Creek part of Fairview is the most gorgeous part of Buncombe County and our home is in an area of Fairview that is still almost all large plots of land with beautiful horse farms all along the way to our house. It's fifteen minutes to Tunnel Road and fifteen minutes to Airport Road so it is the perfect location to access the best shopping in either direction. Cane Creek is still considered to be the best and most sought after school district in the county.

We love to eat at Angelo's, Piazza wood fired pizza, Pizza and More, Subway, Sonic

Grocery stores include Ingles and Food Lion

Spectacular view, beautiful gated neighborhood, beautiful surrounding area, convenient location. The Cane Creek area is one of the most beautiful areas of all of Western North Carolina. I am a native of Buncombe County and I love all of this area but have always had a dream of being able to live in the Cane Creek part of Fairview.

The Cane Creek district is very sought after and thought by many to be the best school district in all of Buncombe County.

This house is just a premier house in every way. It is very large, very elegant, and planned very carefully to be a pure pleasure to live in. It is very economical to heat and cool because of the Geo-Thermal Heating and Air-conditioning system. The large, hand hewn granite rocks were cut and laid to match the incredible exclusive style of the Old Edward's Inn and Spa in Highlands, NC. This heavy Old World Style of rock work blends with beautiful pebbledash to complete a gorgeous exterior. The interior is equally stunning with walnut hardwood floors and stairs, ten foot ceilings, eight foot doors, extremely artistic hand made cabinetry throughout the house, a huge laundry room, 110" theater room, ....well you really just need to see this.

We love hiking, biking, running, walking. Our home is backed up to a beautiful mountain that has miles of wonderfully maintained trails, accessible from our neighborhood, traversing our side of the mountain and going all the way over the mountain into the Hooper's Creek district.
The neighborhood is on Brush Creek Road. It is a perfect road for running and biking. It is flat and beautiful all the way to Cane Creek Road.

There is a really nice flowing creek at the entrance to Monarch with a bridge, gazebo, nice large grassy areas that go right up to the creek banks, and a wonderful playground."

BELOW APPRAISAL! Newer, 2-story townhome with community greenspace and creek. Beautiful hardwoods in living area and comfy carpeting in the bedrooms. Master suite offers double closets and double vanities. Live in the heart of it all with a convenient location close to shopping and dining, within a quick commute to major interstates, and halfway between Hendersonville and Asheville!-

"Sellers say": I love Fletcher's location, situated between Asheville and Hendersonville, and its proximity to interstates and roads that make travel easy. Fletcher is close enough to the cities to offer entertainment, dining and activities, but just far enough away so residents can enjoy green space, beautiful views and other quality of life features.

Fletcher also has several industrial parks and companies, so it is also great place to live for many people who work in the area.

My favorite nearby restaurants include the The Black Forest German restaurant, Little Bee Thai Restaurant and the convenient chains on nearby Airport Road (Carrabas, Chilis, Ruby Tuesday, etc.) I love to shop at the new Ingles at the turn off 25 onto Old Airport Road. It's so convenient and clean, and it offers all the products I need. It's also great that it has a gas station with lower gas prices than other stations.

I was drawn to The Townes at Connor Creek's convenient location, spaceous floorplan, ample closet space, guest bathroom on the first floor, fireplace with TV cutout over the mantle, garage, large master bedroom and bathroom and three bed/two bath layout upstairs.

I was attracted to the area because of the shopping and dining in the area as well as the convenient location between Asheville and Hendersonville. This gives me the option to stay close to home or venture out without having to drive too far. Also, the views and countryside are beautiful in this part of the county.

The WNC Agricultural Center is close by on Airport Road and hosts events such as the WNC Fair, craft shows, music and more. The Asheville Regional Airport is a short drive away, convenient for travel but not so close as to be noisy.

The value of buying a home in the Fletcher area is an important consideration for potential buyers. From property prices to tax rates to utilities, I found living in Fletcher allowed me to be a homeowner and still live close to work and amenities.

I enjoy going to the nearby Fletcher Community Park, Sunday afternoon drives exploring new communities in Henderson and Buncombe County, shopping and events at the WNC Agricultural Center. The Townes at Connor Creek homeowners are friendly and regularly hold get togethers so neighbors can get to know one another. I also enjoy the wonderful nearby Fletcher Community Park, which always has runners and people riding bikes, children playing sports and neighbors enjoying a walk among nice natural landscaping.
