"Seller Says"
The things I love about North Asheville are the beautiful mountain views, close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and some of the most wonderful restaurants in the Southeast.

I love to eat at the Stoney Knob Cafe in Weaverville, just a short drive down Merrimon Ave, but that is not all. Just down Merrimon less than 1/4 mile is fantastic Italian with Vinnies, some of the best Thai in town (Noi's Thai Kitchen) and excellent Sushi (Zen Sushi). Downtown is just about 1 mile away as well and there are several wonderful options there.
Take your pick with any of several grocery stores within less than 1 mile including the brand new Trader Joe's and Harris Teeter. Also close by are Greenlife Grocery, Ingles (the nicest one in Asheville and possibly WNC) and The Fresh Market.
When I bought my property I was immediately drawn in by the mountain views I have from my front porch that rival those seen at the top of Town Mountain and Elk Mountain that you will pay over $1 Million for easily and I have an amazingly clear view of the downtown skyline even during summer. The large deck is also great for entertaining and there is a nice sized yard in back with a garden plot as well for your own organic gardening.

The Asheville area is wonderful for the mild temperate climate, beautiful Carolina blue skies, top notch restaurants, outstanding music and arts scenes and top notch breweries. I also love the friendliness of people in the area and the feel of southern hospitality. I love to bike around town, which is easy to do, especially being so close to downtown. Also, there are so many hiking options within about ten to fifteen minutes of my house location that you can easily access if you have any pets or just want to get out into the elements.
We all like different things, but some of my favorite things to do in the area are, road and mountain biking, hiking, swimming at waterfall areas, trail running, etc. If you love the outdoors, this is the place for you! My neighborhood and especially my street is great for its safety, friendly neighbors and close proximity to downtown. It is a dead end street, making thru traffic non-existent and safety for children and pets almost second to none! The neighbors all know each other and watch out for each other if one is out of town as well.

My utility costs are reasonable in the winter, which is usually the peak time for most home owners in terms of price. The highest I paid last winter was about $120 for gas in January and that includes using my gas range almost every day as I love to cook.

  2. To borrow from the movie, Jerry Maguire, this home "had me" with the view towards town from the kitchen window. Loved it. Then, once exiting the kitchen and walking into the deck and backyard, I continued to enjoy that terrific "sense of place" that we are so fortunate to enjoy here in Asheville. I also love how well-cared for the home is and that there is the opportunity to have a kitchen table in the kitchen; that's not a feature you find in bungalow-style homes near the city and further widens the possibilities for this great home.
