The things I love about Candler are the elementary schools, middle and high school!. I love that it is on the outskirts of the city of Asheville, but our house is in the county with lower property taxes. There is just about anything we want within a few minutes drive. There are also several wonderful churches within minutes.
We love to eat at Fatz which is 7 min. away-Yes I have timed it! Cracker Barrel and Applebee's are on the same strip. We go to Cracker Barrel on Saturday mornings when our daughter is home from college. She works there on the weekends that she comes in from App. State----If you prefer something a little nicer, there are quite a few upscale restaurants in Asheville just 15 min. away.
Grocery stores, drug stores and fast food all are 5 min away. There are also two great coffee houses five min away. The convenience of where we live is so hard to beat and it has us spoiled.
We loved the cul de sac when we first saw it. It is nestled in at the end of the development and seems like a mini hideaway for us. In the summer, when the leaves are out, it feels like a little retreat that is really still right in the middle of everything.
The Asheville Area is unique with the beauty of the surrounding mountains along with the booming downtown weekend activities. There is so much entertainment--outdoor concerts, wonderful shops--something for everyone.
We are just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore Estate, and Downtown Asheville.
We walk a lot and we love to walk in our development. It is 1/3 mile street with a steep incline.
Our neighborhood is small and peaceful with country charm. The neighbors are a mixture of baby boomers with college kids and approx. five families with elementary age children. The neighbors are very respectful and 95% have lived here at least 10 years. Our house was the newest in neighborhood until the recent new construction that has just finished next door to us.
