Weaverville is a great little community with its own shopping & a few restaurants with more to come. We are only 8 miles from Asheville which makes it very convenient to go downtown shopping to the mall or go downtown for a variety of restaurants.

There are two restaurants that we particularly enjoyed in Weaverville. One is Blue Mountain Pizza, the other is a little hamburger shack called Granny's at the end of Newstock road and Weaverville highway. Nearby we have Bellagio's Bistro and of course 8 miles away you're in downtown Asheville and there are quite a number of restaurants. Grocery stores in Weaverville are plentiful we have Ingles supermarket and of course Walmart. A few miles down the road we have other Ingles stores. The Fresh Market, Harris Teeter and Trader Joe's are all up and down Merrimon Avenue before you get to 240.

When we were searching for a house Weaverville was our destination. because of the mountains and my husband's disability it was necessary for us to have a single floor plan with the garage on the main it was also important to us that it was or could be made handicap accessible. We have accomplished that. Views were also important to us, and once we found this house despite the shop next door which never entered into our planning we have never regretted a moment of living here. the neighbors have been excellent, views are unbelievable. the weather is great and the home has worked out well for us I have never been one to enjoy the big cities. I was looking for country living with access to stores and restaurants. I feel that this location accomplishes this. I love being out here in the country and if I need to go to town it's not that far. Fortunately we now have a Lowe's and Walmart so I very seldom need to going to town unless I'm going in for my doctors.
Some of the other things you may not know about this area is that while it may seem remote we are so accessible to so many things to do go into town and shop can go into downtown Asheville and go to the Apple Festival in Hendersonville. Burnsville has a craft fair there the first weekend of August every year. You can go hiking in the mountains.  We can go to Cherokee to the casinos 60 Miles to the north is the Tennessee line, 60 miles to the south is the South Carolina line but I love coming home to this home and the quiet solitude and comfort that I enjoy.

Since I am an animal lover and love the mountains, my favorite past time is riding through the mountains exploring the back roads finding old cemeteries finding new restaurants. Is all very new and exciting to me each time I venture out. My biggest enjoyment comes from watching the horses across the street and gazing at the beautiful mountain views. I have a plaque that I purchased when I was here on vacation many years ago that reads heaven is a little closer when you're in Weaverville. That is exactly how I feel.
I have always enjoyed horses. When I was younger I owned a couple so finding this place has been my heaven on earth. of course if that is not your choice there are local pubs around, bowling alleys and some of the pubs have dart leagues.

So all you have to do is look around and you will find something I selected this neighborhood for a variety of reasons. Number one the views were important to me. I can sit on the front porch for hours & enjoy the mountains, beautiful homes across the valley the horses in the pasture directly across the street. They are always hungry and wait for the mowers to dump the clippings!

The neighbors are all quite friendly including a collision shop which is on one side of me. The shop is a collision and paint shop and is an excellent neighbor. The neighborhood is relatively quiet as there are very few children close by. However some neighbors do walk on a daily basis and it is not uncommon for them to stop and chat or simply to wave as they walk by.

There are several churches in the area including a baptist Church seven houses away. There are numerous other churches in Weaverville and in North Asheville. I have loved every minute of living here.
