'Seller Says'

What do you love about your town?

We live at Springdale Country Club, located in the town of Cruso. Springdale is a gated community with 18 holes of golf and trout fishing a short walk away and wonderful mountain views. We actually face the famous Cold Mountain of book and movie fame.

What do you love about your neighborhood?
Springdale is a combination of seasonal and full-time residents. It’s a social community with fourth of July, pig roasts and other get-togethers. An evening golf cart ride often leads to something cold to drink on someones deck or porch. Naturally golf related events and tournaments for those that play are on the schedule.

Where do you love to eat?
Well to start Springdale has two options to have a meal, but in addition a short 18 minutes drive to Waynesville offers many options! Our personal favorites are Sweet Onion, Frog Leaps and Chefs table. For a great burger we like Church Street Burgers. For more options and a foodies paradise is Asheville just 38 minutes away.

Grocery Stores and other shops?

Two new Ingles grocery stores are both within 18 minutes drive. We are very luck to have farmers markets and roadside produce stands during the nicer months.

Favorite hang-outs/entertainment in the area?

Waynesville has a great Performing Arts Center and a refurbished old theater has movies and live music in addition to many restaurants and breweries. Asheville has to many options to mention.

What were you drawn to when you bought the property?

To start it’s at the end of the road, very private and faces Cold Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is situated on four acres and borders a creek and many acres of green-space are directly next to the lot which faces south/south-west. A one hundred plus year old Oak tree gives a dramatic sense of proportion in the foreground of the Smokey Mountains.

What do you love about the area/town where you live?

The mountain views, streams, creeks, country roads and great people.

What are your hobbies?

Hiking, fishing, golfing, eating, drinking, hosting get-togethers and some travel mixed in.
