Seller says:

One of the things I love about the area we live in is that it feels a little like your on vacation every day.  When I grab a cup of coffee, I can go stand on my back deck look out across the forest, listen to the birds chirp and look at the mountains in the distance.  It's very relaxing.  People that live here want to live here.  There's a bakery in downtown Weaverville called the Well-Bred Bakery.  It was started by a couple New Yorkers.  They became part of the fabric of the community and it's a great hang out spot.  It's hard not to fall in love with the small town charm.  It's reminder of an earlier time where everyone knew their neighbors and everyone had a moment to chat when you ran into them in the grocery store.

My favorites restaurants near my home are many.  Asheville is known for some great and varied cuisine.  From the unusual and flavorful veggie options at "The Laughing Seed" to the incredible Greek and Italian concoctions at Pomodoros, Asheville's restaurants can't be beat.  The Well-Bred Bakery in Weaverville is incredible.  You've got to try their "Mile High Mountain Eclair".  It's a mountain of cream covered in flaky pastry smothered with chocolate.  It's a bazillion calories and worth every single one.  They even have live music on the weekend.  Blue Mountain Pizzeria is another Weaverville hometown favorite with locally made pizza that rises above the rest.  The quirky styling and incredible food at Stony Knob Cafe brings people in from all over the area to the purple and gold themed dining rooms.

There are plenty of stores close to the house.   From the hometown chain Ingles to Wal-Mart, you'll find them right in Weaverville.  You'll also find a variety of other stores about 15 minutes away in Asheville.  From the uber-healthy Earthfare and Greenlife (owned by Whole Foods) to Sam's Club, Bi-Lo and Harris Teeter there's something for everyone.   From pre-made meals to gourmet and organic ingredients you can hit one of the above-mentioned stores, or head to one of over a dozen farmer's and tailgate markets for home-grown or farm to market produce and goodies.

When we bought our property we immediately fell in love with the 800-square- foot finished basement.  For us it serves as an entertainment room, home office and play area for the kids.  In the wintertime we even have a full-size bounce house down there.  Even with it inflated there's still plenty of room, and the kids can get their wiggles out.  Bonus!

We also love the large rocking chair front porch.  We roast marshmallows on cool fall evenings while sitting on the front porch.  The back porch looks out on the 3/4 of an acre, heavily-forested lot.   We like getting up early and watching the sun rise over the mountains while the birds welcome in the day."    The Weaverville area is a beautiful area.  It's close enough to enjoy all the amenities of the larger city of Asheville, and small enough that you can still get to know your neighbors.  It's a friendly community where people still help each other.  It's a wonderful place to retire or raise a family.  There are tons of outdoor actitivities for everyone from toddlers to those who are looking for a good place to retire.    There are a few other things I'd like to mention.  The elementary, secondary and high school are all within a mile or two of the house.  Just a short 10 minute drive away you can go zip-lining through the forest canopy with the Navitat adventure company.  You can go hiking or mountain biking just about anywhere in the area.

We enjoy being outdoors.  The three-quarters of an acre features a nice front and backyard, plus your own private forest.  One year before we had our second child we even built a nature trail into the forest.  There's nothing more incredible than watching the thousands of tiny white buds blossom into brilliant white flowers all away around the house when the Bradford Pears bloom in Spring. We like the beauty of the sunshine reflecting off the wood floors throughout the house.  The house is just beautiful, and we were very blessed to live there.  If we hadn't lived in the area, it really would have felt like a vacation home because of all the stunning natural beauty all around the house.   The house is beautiful too with mature landscaping and everything looks great as the home was completely remodeled from top to bottom in 2009.

We love to just be tourists in our own town.  From trying the latest restaurant to the chocolate shop --from the largest music festival in the south, Bel Chere, to the Big South and SoConn basketball tournaments, from a concert at the Orange Peel to the symphony orchestra at the Thomas Wolfe, from minor league baseball with the Asheville Tourists to racing at the Bristol Motor Speedway, from driving the Blue Ridge Parkway to picking wild blueberries --there are enough things to do to last a lifetime. Our neighborhood is great because it's on a dead end road.  You don't have a lot of traffic.  It's quiet, except for the sound of nature.  It's not uncommon to see rabbits, squirrels, an occasional possum and maybe even a fox walking through the neighborhood.    We really know our neighbors.  They may drop off fresh veggies from their garden or bring by a fresh batch of cookies.  We enjoying just chatting with our neighbors and having them over for dinner or a barbecue.

Our utility costs were very reasonable.  Everything in the home is electric, so I think we did pretty well.  We paid 12-even payments of $124.00 a month last year.  Keep in mind that included heating the home in winter and the electric water heater.  We have our own well and septic system, so you won't have a water or sewer bill.   Beyond that you can choose what you want to pay for cable, satellite, internet, etc.
