Asheville is such a unique town with a great balance of Southern charm and cultural diversity.
There are several great restaurants close to the house.  Sunny Point is my favorite.  There is also Standard Pizza, Lucky Otter and U-Joint.  There are two Ingles Markets within a short drive of the house, as well as all the amenities available on Patton Avenue/Smoky Park Highway.
When I bought the property I was drawn to the historic character of the home and the potential it offered to fix it up and make it my own.  There is also a fabulous maple tree in the front yard that provides shade to the front of the house and porch.   

Asheville is great because of the local color.  You can always find a new place to hang out, shop, or eat that is locally owned.   We're very conveniently located to Mission Hospital and ABTech.

I love to spend time in Carrier Park and the adjoining greenways.  We both run and bike with our dog in the parks on a regular basis.  My neighborhood is in a fantastic location.  We're minutes from downtown, and a within walking distance of Carrier Park and Haywood Rd, the heart of West Asheville.   

Our utility costs are quite reasonable.  On average we spend $25/month on natural gas heat (PSNC), $50/month on electric (Progress Energy), and $77/month on water/sewer/trash/recycling (City of Asheville).
