The things that I love about Fletcher, NC are numerous. The town is safe and well-protected by dedicated policemen and women. The location could not be more convenient, with easy access to both Asheville and Hendersonville. Fletcher also provides you with easy access to all of the necessary resources: grocery stores only two miles away, gas stations within a mile, and many restaurant choices nearby.
We love to eat at the brand new Olive Garden that just opened down the road. We also enjoy the local cuisine including Blue Sky Cafe and Kostas Kitchen. Shopping is available in every direction of our great location. There is an Ingles Market just two miles away. The Southridge Shopping Center provides great shopping options, including a Target, Best Buy, OfficeMax, PetSmart, Michael's, Ross, and Marshall's, to name a few.
When we bought the property we were drawn to the fact that it was an end unit, which are generally more desirable. Again, the location was a huge draw, with everything so close by.
The Asheville area is an amazing area in so many ways. Asheville is an extremely diverse city; there is something for everyone!
A few other things that I can mention are the nearby services, such as Park Ridge Hospital, located just miles away. Fletcher Park is also just miles away, providing a great place for kids to play or for adults to exercise and enjoy the walking and biking trails.
We enjoy spending time outdoors, especially with our dog. Nearby Fletcher Park provides a great place for taking pets for walks, riding bikes, and picnicking.
Our neighborhood is extremely friendly and everyone is very conscientious, which helps provide a feeling of security and community. The neighborhood has a garage sale each year, allowing the whole community to clean out their attics and garages and spend a day socializing and finding great deals.
Our utility costs are very reasonable. Water is provided by the City of Hendersonville and averaged under $20 a month. Sewer service is provided by Henderson County and averaged around $25 a month. Electric Service is provided by Progress Energy and varies throughout the year from as low as $30 in the winter to a high of approximately $100 in the summer. Gas service, which provides both heat and hot water, also varies throughout the year, starting at about $30 a month to $80 a month. The necessary utilities usually averaged approximately $150.
