SELLER SAYS!

Asheville, NC is an exciting and adventurous place to live. We have so many outdoor adventures within minutes or our home, we have hard time choosing. Activities such as the Biltmore Estate, Navitat or the Gorge Zip Line (which I highly recommend), whitewater rafting, hiking, camping, kayaking, and the list goes on. For city life, Asheville is known for its wonderful restaurants, music, arts, and eclectic atmosphere. The active downtown area is a draw for locals and tourists alike. We never tire of the mountain views. Year round beauty. We thoroughly love living in this area.

Restaurants are abundant! We tend to eat out a great deal, and close by to the neighborhood, we have Tupelo
Honey, the Green Sage, Frankie Bones, Wild Wings Cafe, the obvious chain restaurants, and many small local spots. Did I mention a great little Korean Restaurant, the Stone Bowl is very close by as well. A short trip to downtown, you have award winning restaurants such as Curate, Limones, Rezaz, The Admiral, The Bull and Beggar, The Junction, All Souls Pizza, Barleys, Packs Tavern, just to name a few. There is something for every taste.

Grocery stores are abundant and only a 2-3 mile drive. To list a few, we have Ingles, Earth Fare, The Fresh Market, and a soon to be built Publix. Movie theaters, hardware stores, and Walmart are all close by on Hendersonville Road. One of the attractions to this neighborhood initially for us was its proximity to a variety of stores that met our daily shopping needs.
When we initially bought this property, we were attracted to the "country feel", but also being so close to the city services. The tree lined drive into Applewood estates is beautiful, and we liked having a home on top of a small "hill" in the middle of a valley surrounded by mountains. We enjoy our screened porch that gives us that "tree house" feel. During warmer weather, we tend to live on the porch, enjoying the sounds of the birds and squirrels, and its just a very enjoyable place for an afternoon nap.

We enjoy several attractions in the area, such as the Biltmore Estate and the NC Arboretum. We buy an annual pass to the Biltmore Estate and go there for biking, walking, and touring the house and gardens. It is a great place for an afternoon picnic by the river. The NC Arboretum has not only the gardens, but trails that many use for hiking and biking. The Blue Ridge Parkway is very close by and a great place to take a drive or find a good hiking spot. We are also close to nearby smaller towns that have their own charm.

We have lived in and loved this home for 20 years, and have taken great pride in keeping it up to date and beautiful. We raised our family here, and now it is time for us to move on to a new chapter in our life. We hope a new owner will enjoy it as much as we have.

We all like different things, but we enjoy hiking, biking, golf, gardening, and just being in the mountains. Hiking opportunities are everywhere you turn. Just take a short drive and you can find waterfalls and vistas that will take your breath away. Biking is very popular in Asheville with clubs and organizations having group outings for all skill levels. Golf courses are plentiful ranging from level valley courses to very mountainous tracks.

Applewood Estates is a lovely small, quiet neighborhood comprised of 2 streets and 18 homes. Each street ends in a cul-de-sac providing a secure and quiet atmosphere. No through traffic. We have always enjoyed how the neighborhood gets together for cookouts and other events. Its a place where we can sit alone in quiet solitude, or gather with neighbors for an enjoyable evening.

  6. Beautiful modern home! Our neighborhood is so perfect in location...very quiet and pristine in regard to country living, however right around the corner and just down the road is most everything a person could need in daily living. It could not be a more convenient, beautiful location.
