"Seller Says"
The things I love about Black Mountain are first and foremost the people! A wide variety - people who have lived there all of their lives, retired people, herbalists, back to the earthers - all friendly. They pack so many festivities and celebrations into the year and have so many things to do. Great local beer and food, breathtaking hiking trails, interesting shopping.

We love to eat at the Straightaway Cafe - within horse back riding distance. Eclectic food, local beers, great entertainment. My Father's Pizza in Black Mountain - great pizza and friendly servers. Ole Guacamoles - Delicious Mexican food best eaten outside along the mountain stream. Thai Basil - Great Asian food, served under the watchful eye of the owner. Red Rocker Inn for Sunday brunch. Pisgah Brewing - hard to find, very basic but great beer! The Dripolator for coffee and meeting people any time of the day. Plus the Dynamite Roasting Co....

Grocery stores are 15 minute drive away in Black Mountain. Locally owned Ingles is huge and has just about anything you would ever need - even NC shrimp and Alaskan salmon. Amazing Savings is great for bargains.

When we bought the property we were drawn to the wonderful creek and the peacefulness of the forest and mountains. The Asheville area is a mixture of new age and down home. Great local beers, an abundance of beautiful hiking trails and great people. Our son attended The Learning Community School, a very special K through 8th grade school situated on a beautiful campus near Black Mountain. It wasn't just a school, it is a community of families that share a vision of creating a nurturing environment for their children.

We had a huge garden with fertile soil and abundant water near the barn. Tubing on the rivers was a great way to cool off in the summer. In the winter, we would sled on the hill across from the house, coming back inside for hot chocolate and sitting around the wood stove.

Our neighborhood is filled with a variety of people, but all living near the Broad River because of the beauty of the mountains.
