'Seller Says'
The things I love about Black Mountain are the locally owned restaurants, that it is walkable and safe, hiking, mild weather, friendliness, Lake Tomahawk, diversity and small town charm. The first word that comes to mind about Black Mountain is "cozy".

We love to eat at the following restaurants: Ole Guacamole, Dark City Deli, Chowtime Pizza for delivery, Dynamite Coffee....but best place to enjoy a meal is right on the back patio at our house. You can really eat out there 9 months out of the year!

Grocery stores, like Ingles and Bi-Lo are only 5 minutes away. There is also Hopey and Company for great organic and gluten -free options. Just about all the basic needs are within 5-7 minutes away.

When we bought this property, we were drawn to the gorgeous yard, high ceilings in the living room, spectacular golf course view and the idea it is an easy and flat 15 minute walk to the lake and 20 minute walk to downtown. As a family, we were thrilled to learn the town sledding hill is just behind the house. It is an idyllic winter wonderland!

This area is a dream for anyone who is an outdoor enthusiast, or enjoys a more organic type of lifestyle. It is easy to live well here. There is something for everyone to enjoy and you are also a day trip to Greenville, Charlotte, Knoxville and several cool mountain towns. Asheville Airport also has some great deals on flights to Florida when you need a little sunshine in the winter.

A few other things worth mentioning are.......The previous owners were master gardeners. Through careful planning, they designed the yard so that something is blooming almost year round. They also created a wonderfully rich soil that just about any plant thrives in. We have since added a raised bed garden, berry bushes, and a huge bluestone patio. Birds are especially drawn to the yard and last year we had over 15 nests in the trees and bushes. The back patio is the highlight of the home, hands down. It's a great space for entertaining or just hanging out on a fall evening by the fire pit. Stargazing from this house is pretty spectacular too!

This town is more or less one giant neighborhood. I am perfectly fine letting my boys ride their bikes within several blocks of our house. Snow days are certainly some of our best memories here on Chapel Road. After a good snow, you are guaranteed to see at least 50 kids over on the sledding hill. Often times, just behind the house, they start huge snowball fight, with dozens of kids and adults.  It is very Norman Rockwell feeling. It's a very wholesome environment to live, work, play and raise a family.

We love skiing at Beech up in Boone, we love gardening, watching birds in the yard. There are some great antique shops and auctions in the area. We are art collectors. We enjoy Asheville Tourists games in the summer, finding fun waterfall hikes to go for a swim, daily walks on the golf course with our dogs.our boys can often get on the golf course and play a few holes.

Our neighborhood is great for walking dogs, stopping to chat with all the friendly neighbors, birdwatching and golfing. It is so quiet here, yet so conveniently located. The next door neighbors on both sides are lovely. Neighbors on one side are only here part time. The house backs up to the famous 17th hole, at one time was the longest hole in the country at 747 yards. It's a lot of fun to sit on the patio on a Saturday afternoon with a cold drink and watch the golfers.

  17. This is such a great house! The sellers' taste in decorating is impeccable. There's a possibility of adding a second full bath on the main level, if one so desired. And so great that it is on the 17th green! (And the sellers have never, ever had a golf ball hit into their yard - important factoid.)
