'Seller Says'

The things I love about Hendersonville are the quaint, historic small town feel but with all of the amenities.  Downtown Hendersonville is a place to easily walk and enjoy the many stores and antique shops plus a variety of excellent restaurants.  On a nice day it's a lot of fun to sit at one of the sidewalk cafes and enjoy a cool drink or a meal and watch people and their dogs which are always welcome in downtown Hendersonville.

We love to eat at many of the restaurants in Hendersonville but we especially enjoy El Paso and Fatz.  El Paso serves excellent authentic Mexican food, is very comfortable and relaxing.  Fatz is an very friendly place to eat with superb American cuisine.  We have eaten there for Thanksgiving and were extremely pleased with the welcoming atmosphere where we could enjoy a holiday meal at a leisurely pace.

Grocery stores are plentiful and varied.  We live in the woods but in ten minutes are at Ingles and Wal-Mart.  It's just a few minutes further to BI-LO, Grocery Outlet, Aldi, Fresh Market and Harris Teeter.  We understand a Publix is coming soon.  Lots of choice at major chains and a Sam's Club right behind Wal-Mart.

When we bought the property we were drawn to the sound of a waterfall as we stepped out of the realtor's car.  It was like a magnet that drew us toward it and we stepped onto the patio to see the waterfalls coming down the mountain and flowing into the stream.  Within just a few minutes we were ready to make an offer.  The property is surrounded by woods, paths, rock walls and several gardens offering a wide variety of native plants and flowers.  It's like our own private Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Hendersonville area is a wonderful mix of small city and country.  It's apple country and we really enjoy the mix of historic Hendersonville but the fact that within just a few minutes we're in the middle of apple farms and grape vineyards.  It's a great pastoral area with a combination of farms and mountains.  It's a short trip to Jump Off Rock and any of a number of beautiful walking trails.  Henderson County has done a great job of creating people friendly areas.

A few other things we love about this area are the great farm stands that have fresh produce during the summer.  Being so close to the South Carolina border we get a lot of their early fresh fruits and vegetables.  In the fall the apple orchards have tremendous varieties of apples and home baked goods made with apples.  You can't beat these!  Of course we're very close to the WNC Farmer's Market which is a great place to buy produce and plants.

We love to visit the surrounding communities.  Asheville is of course a great place to visit with so many activities.  We also really enjoy the small communities such as Saluda, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure to name a few.  We've found lovely places to walk and enjoy nature as well as interesting shops in these communities.

We love to travel and it's just minutes to the Asheville Airport or less than an hour to Greenville-Spartanburg Airport.  These connect with major hubs in Charlotte and Atlanta from which the whole world is accessible.

We like different things but we especially enjoy antique and consignment shops.  We've found the Hendersonville area to have many of both types with some great bargains and finds.  We've had fun selling some of our long held pieces and getting "new" ones that we're really enjoying.

Our neighborhood is great for enjoying the peace and serenity of the woods.  It's a safe neighborhood and we can leave the sliding door open to the master bedroom so we can listen to the waterfalls at night.  There is beautiful birdsong to enjoy when sitting on the porches or patio.
