"Seller Says"
We love Black Mountain.  A small, picturesque town that makes you feel like you've stepped inside a Norman Rockwell painting.  I read that somewhere once and it made me smile because it is so true.

I love the fact that we live next to so many wonderful places to eat.  One of our favorite things to do as a family is walk down to Louise's Kitchen for Sunday brunch.  I am obsessed with the huevos rancheros.  A few doors down is Red Radish to Go and it is my "go to" place to get a home cooked meal on a busy schedule and their desserts are divine.  Our family loves pizza and we take turns between My Father's Pizza and Fresh Wood Fire Pizza....both are wonderful. Trailhead, Ole's Guacamoles, Que Sera, Morning Glory, Thai Basil, and Veranda Cafe are a few others that we also enjoy immensely.  We also venture up to Hey, Hey Cupcake and splurge on the decadent yumminess of their cupcake creations.

Places to shop are aplenty.  For groceries we shop at Ingles, the outdoor "Tailgate Market" from May to October (you will see the whole community there on Saturday mornings), the Black Mountain Farmers Market, Natural Foods, and The Artisan Gourmet Market.  Downtown shopping we have Town Hardware, Take a Hike Outfitters, Common Housefly, The Merry Wine Market, Cherry Street Kids, and so many antique shops and art/craft galleries.

When we bought this property we were drawn to the location.  We also loved that it was a bungalow that was built recently so we didn't have to stress over things like lead paint, black mold, rusted pipes, leaky roofs, etc.  We love being on a dead end street and on a corner lot.  We love the simplicity of the layout of the house.  It is great for having people over.  Our kitchen opens up to the dining area and living room, so everyone can socialize without missing out.  It has been wonderful with small children as well because they are always within eyesight.  I love the front porch and it is where I spend most of my time from spring to fall.  Whenever I feel a little overwhelmed I go sit outside and look out at the view of the mountains from the side, take a deep breath and it calms me down every time. Honestly, I wish we could move our house and location and the things we love down with us.

The Asheville area is wonderful because there is so much to do!  Downtown Asheville is the mecca for amazing food!  The people are wonderful and friendly. The mountains are breathtaking and calming.

There are a great selection of schools to choose from within and around Black Mountain.  Wonderful public schools, a sought after charter school and great private school options such as Swannanoa Valley Montessori School, The Learning Community School, and Asheville Christian Academy.

There are so many things to do around the area. We hike and bike.  Lake Tomahawk offers "Park Rhythms" in the summer for some great free outdoor concerts with local food.  We walk to catch the fireworks downtown every 4th of July.  There are lots of festivals and community events happening throughout the year and a huge selection of summer camps and outdoor activities.

We love our neighborhood for so many reasons.  The first being LOCATION.  We live in this hidden nook that no one really knows about and yet we are so close to everything.  We are able to walk to town and get to everything we could ever need.  The cute downtown with all its wonderful shops and restaurants.  The library for our weekly book fix.  The many classes and events at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts.  The post office and many parks and playgrounds.
We live across from "In-the-Oaks", which was one of the last of the grand estates built in the early 1920s and is currently owned by Montreat College.  It is beautiful.  We enjoy many of the wonderful cross country trails within the estate, brimming with blackberries and black raspberries.  Just down from there is the greenway trail that takes you to the Black Mountain Rec Park, Grey Eagle Arena and the Black Mountain Community Garden.  We bike and hike a lot with the kids and I feel so fortunate it's just outside our door.  Our neighbors are wonderful and one of the things we will miss most about our neighborhood.

Our utility costs stay low because of the size of our house.
