"Seller Says"
There are so many things we love about Fletcher. The mountain views are magnificent and we enjoy the four seasons. Perfectly located between Asheville and Hendersonville, we have the best of both worlds. Schools, shopping, and the airport are convenient and close by. Both cities host a variety of events throughout the year that are fun and family oriented. We are close to the Biltmore Estate and the Blue Ridge Parkway and have so many activities available such as hiking, camping, fly-fishing, canoeing, and many, many other things to keep just about anybody happy year round.

There are so many great places to eat here in the area. Along with many well-known names like Ruth Chris, Cracker Barrel, P.F. Changs, Carrabba's, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesday, and Red Lobster, there are many of the name brand fast food restaurants, too. Plus, there are dozens of locally owned restaurants like Acropolis Pizza, Tamarind Thai Restaurant, Kosta's Kitchen, Asiana Asian Buffet, 12 Bones BBQ, and many other great places to eat any kind of food imaginable.

Grocery stores are plentiful and offer a wide variety of food items. Ingles Grocery, Dollar General and CVS Pharmacy are nearby. Harris Teeter, Food Lion and Bi-Lo grocery stores are a short drive away. A mall with Lowe's, Target, PetSmart, Office Max, Best Buy, and other stores is only a few minutes away. Super WalMart is near the mall. Dry cleaners, bakeries, hardware, auto parts, and other stores are convenient and close.

When we bought the property, we were drawn to the friendly, family-oriented atmosphere of Southchase and the surrounding area. People are genuinely nice here and it has that "small town" flavor. We like that there are many activities available for families to enjoy time together such as the Fletcher City Parks. The City of Fletcher puts on free concerts in the summer and the parks are well maintained and safe. Nearby Asheville and Hendersonville host several events year round that are fun and offer something for everybody in the family.

The Asheville area is wonderful and so diverse and offers something for everyone. Great outdoor activities await nature lovers and fishermen. Music and art are a big part of the local area. Many artists and musicians keep traditional Appalachian art, music, and crafts alive while others offer traditional and modern music, art and theater. Mixed in with locals are the people who come from all around the USA to live here after they discover how wonderful a place Asheville is to live.

A few other things I can mention are the EXCELLENT medical services available in Asheville. Many of the professional medical facilities are very highly rated and are staffed by some of the finest physicians and specialists in the country.

Both Buncombe (Asheville) and Henderson (Hendersonville) County Schools are highly regarded within the state of North Carolina.  The University of North Carolina has a campus in Asheville. Clemson is very close, just over the border in South Carolina, and there are several junior colleges and vocational schools throughout the area.
We love Western North Carolina. Life is good here.  Of course, we all like different things. We enjoy the nice, cool summers here. Winter snow blankets the area and turns it into a winter wonderland. The fall colors rival anything in the northeast U.S. Spring is a burst of colors from all the magnificent Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Dogwoods that grow wild in the area. Many of our friends enjoy the numerous golf courses that are surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. Fly fishermen enjoy world-class fly-fishing. Nature lovers marvel at the beauty of the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Appalachian Trail, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park nearby. People like to canoe along the French Broad River. It is a beautiful and fun place to live.

Our neighborhood is great for the tree lined streets and the quality of people living around us. Families enjoy a safe, friendly place they can truly call home. Southchase is located in the heart of Fletcher and is convenient to schools, shopping, restaurants. There are wonderful parks close by that offer many activities for people of all ages. The surrounding mountains offer million dollar views that are continually changing throughout the four seasons.

Our utility costs are surprisingly reasonable. Our electric costs from Progress Energy, natural gas cost from PSNC, and our water bill from Hendersonville Water has been modest and reflects the efficiency of construction of the house. Other utilities such as sewer and trash collection are also reasonably priced. Recycling is encouraged and those items are picked up every two weeks.
