"Seller Says"
The things I love about Hendersonville are the many neat places to eat, the quaint main street shops, its beautiful surrounding countryside, the small town friendliness, its fascinating history, minimal crime, and that it has about everything you need without being a "big city".
While we don't eat out a lot, it is amazing how many restaurants there are, close by, and all around the area.  The variety will provide many choices for anyone's tastes--Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Asian, and many more.

Our grocery stores are plentiful, close by, and vary from the discount stores like Grocery Outlet and Save More to the regular ones like, Ingles and Bi-Lo and others.  There is the Fresh Market and other specialty and organic grocers as well.

When we bought this property we were drawn to it because of the spacious yard, it's 1860s aristocratic or colonial feel, the fire places, high ceilings, and pine wood floors.  It has a large front porch and balcony where we can rock and wave at our neighbors as they pass by.  The house has the old claw foot tubs, button light switches, and we love our flower gardens and the little one room buggy repair shop in the front yard.

The Hendersonville area is so neat, nestled in close to the Blue Ridge mountains.  But we still have it all--open fields and rolling hills, waterfalls, hiking, riding, and mountain biking trails and golf courses galore. There are attractions like the Biltmore Estate, the Carl Sandburg Home, Chimney Rock, the NC Arboretum, and Grandfather Mountain.  The Blue Ridge Parkway is just up the road, as is Lake Lure and the Pisgah National Forest  Snow skiing is not too far away, either.  Its an outdoorsman's paradise for fishing and backpacking.  It's a wonderful area!

Though our children are now grown, for families this is a good place.  My wife teaches in the public school system and it is excellent, with so many, dedicated, qualified, and caring teachers.

We have lots of music around here, the Brevard Music Center is only a about 30 minute drive.  And there are a lot of different groups that come in the summer and play bluegrass, jazz, and folk music downtown. Of course, everybody around here loves the Apple Festival, with more music, exhibits, gardening tips and good food and fun for all.

Certainly, we all like different things.  I play racquetball for fun and exercise.  The Hendersonville Sports Club is only 2 miles away with tennis, soccer, racquetball, and a pool.  And the YMCA is on the back side of our block!  Jackson Park is another fun place for all kinds of activities.

Our neighborhood, the West Side Historic District, is great with its sidewalks, beautiful trees and well-kept yards. Folks love to take their daily strolls along our sidewalks.  It is just a few minutes walk to the town center with all the shops, banks, the post office, and eating places.

Our utility costs are amazingly low for such a large home.  I'm sure it's because of the natural gas for heat and the five independent zones for heating and cooling.  The city water and sewer are a great advantage and we have free garbage pick-up.  Our mailman deposits our mail right on our front porch!  It's really a nice place with a lot of ambiance, history, and character.  You will love it, just as we have.
