The thing I love about Arden/Asheville are that it has the amenities of a large city (shopping, restaurants, entertainment) and it still has that nice small town feel. 


We love to eat at many of the great restaurants around the area such as the Black Forest, Papas and Beer, Acropolis, and many others within a mile or two of the house. 



We have the luxury of picking between 6-8 different grocery stores and fresh markets within 4 miles of our house. Such as Earthfare, Ingles, Walmart, and fresh produce stands. 

When we bought the property we were drawn to the very mature trees in the yard as well as the hardwood floors and built in cabinets in the house. We also liked having a very big yard. 

The Asheville area is great because it has many national parks and rivers within quick driving distance as well as a lot of activities and entertainment that can occupy your time. There is also great fishing and hunting as well as any other outdoor activities you would like to participate in. 


We all enjoy different things but as a family we enjoy taking walks through the neighborhood and talking with the neighbors as well as taking our children to the neighborhood park and letting the dogs play. 

Our neighborhood is great because our neighbors are great down to earth people that keep any eye out for the well being of the neighborhood and community. 

Our utility costs are very minimal at this house mainly because the trees keep the house in full shade in the summer which keeps the house very cool.  We barely have to run an air conditioner in the summer. In the winter we have the option of heating with wood or using the oil furnace.  We opt for the wood as it is much cheaper than anything else. I would say our basic utility bill average for most months in the year is around 150-300 depending on usage.

  2. Warmth is the word that comes to mind in this home. Complete with built-ins, beautiful blonde wood floors, fireplace, farm style sink and nice sized rooms. The additional small room off the master is a welcomed surprise. The master bathroom is nicely upgraded with a rain water shower head, tiled shower and updated sink.   7. I've yet to meet a butlers' pantry I didn't like! Super-cozy home and love the floor plan and fire pit -- also really enjoy how accessible the home is to local schools and grocery stores. I raised my daughter for 12 years in south Asheville and can attest to what a convenient location this home offers.
