Waynesville is a wonderful community, full of warm welcoming people and a great wealth of heritage. I was happy when we first moved here 14 years ago to find so many young families. It has been a great place to work and raise our children. We can find everything we need here in Waynesville and when we long for more city life Asheville is just 30 minutes away. There are many great restaurants of different price points right inside Waynesville. Our favorites are The Patio, City Bakery, Los Amigos, Nick and Nates, Angelo's, Bourbon Barrel Beef & Ale, Chef's Table and Frogs Leap. We really enjoy eating out.
I was amazed that our grocery stores had so much to offer when we moved here. There are many to choose from and Ingles has a huge variety and is continuing to expand.
We loved to closeness to town yet feeling like we were out in the country. The proximity to other areas for work and school was also a great draw and driving past the Test Farm everyday is always a joy. Our builders also did a great job of preserving the lot and keeping old growth trees which was meaningful for us.
This area is one of the most desirable of the whole US. We get to wake up and take in the Great Smoky Mountains...how many people can say that!
Our hobbies have included; hiking, camping, kayaking, mountain biking, gardening, skiing, skateboarding (there is a great new skate park in town!)
Our neighborhood is perfect in many ways. If you didn't know where to look, you just may not find it. We are tucked just a mile and a half from Waynesville proper and yet we feel like we are on the edge of the country. You can see the mountains off our porches and feel constant breezes. Our neighbors are settled and so friendly, everyone looks out for each other.
