CPO Homes - what it means

CPO = Certified Pre-Owned

Home, Inspection, Appraisal, Home Warranty is in progress. Check with listing agent for current status.

Imagine purchasing a home that has an inspection. All the issues that arise on ANY home are now unlikely to be a problem. YOU know going in, if there are any issues with the home as determined by a licensed home inspector.

Old-fashioned real estate
The average inspection turns up 12 items that need repair. At this point, you as the buyer will have paid for an inspection, and now have to renegotiate the terms of your offer.

Homes with a full CPO take a lot of these issues off the table. You are still welcome to have your own inspection, of course, as well as order your own appraisal if you wish.

Imagine the peace of mind you will have, purchasing a home that has an appraisal in place. We have been using this approach since 2011, and only one of these homes has not appraised when the buyer attempts to get a loan. We sell more homes than any other team in the mountains, so this says something about our approach!

Now you are purchasing a home that is appraised, and has an inspection for your perusal. A full CPO home also offers a home warranty, to take care of most issues that would arise during the first 12 months of your ownership.

The owners of this home have
decided to do all of this preparation upfront for you.

Let's change the real estate process together - and make buying and selling a home closer to what it should be - FUN!

"Seller Says"
We built the house because we liked the location and we found a home plan and design that was in line with the house we built in Illinois. High Vista was an upscale gated golf course development with sizeable lots and beautiful views that was only ten minutes from my job.

The home site was in Henderson County which provided much lower property taxes than Asheville/ Buncombe County. After spending most of our lives in Missouri, Illinois and Minnesota, we were attracted to a place that almost never gets Midwestern hot (90 degrees or warmer), Midwestern cold (20 degrees or colder) or uncomfortably humid.

We really liked the fact that we are almost exactly half-way (20 minutes) between Asheville and Hendersonville, the two largest cities in Western North Carolina. We live in a rural development that is less than ten minutes from the retail and entertainment that we utilize the most: an Ingles grocery super-store with the cheapest gasoline in town, Target, Lowes, Best Buy, a beautiful Regal 16-screen movie complex, Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble and the Asheville Airport. It is a short drive to two popular farmers markets and a wide variety of restaurants of every description (131 Main, Travinia Italian Kitchen, Hickory Tavern, The Fabulous Frankie Bones and Obama’s favorite stop for bar-b-cue, 12 Bones).

Interstate highway access is eight minutes away, and I-26, I-40 and I-240 can take you to the University of North Carolina-Asheville, the U.S. Cellular Civic Center or Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theater of North Carolina. There are seven public golf courses within a 20 minute drive. Everyone needs room for their “stuff,” and we built the house with storage to spare: three large bedroom closets plus two walk-in closets in the master. We have two large closets in the finished part of the basement and twelve feet of storage lockers in the unfinished part. We have two coat closets on the main floor, a butler’s serving pantry next to the dining room, a large walk in pantry in the kitchen, cabinets and a laundry folding table in the washer/dryer room and out of season storage in the area above the garage.

A characteristic of construction in Western North Carolina is that almost every house, no matter how large it is, has a two-car garage. We have two cars but a three car garage because our lawn and gardening equipment needs a home too.

We have always been partial to the look and feel of finished wood so all cabinets and vanities, bedroom and closet doors are six panel solid oak. The first floor living area is hardwood and ceramic tile, the second floor plush carpeting, the finished part of the basement high quality indoor/outdoor carpeting. All of the countertops (the island in the kitchen and the desktops in the kitchen and an upstairs bedroom) are granite.

The open concept living area has 18 recessed lights for the ultimate in selectable lighting. There is a beautiful bronze dimmer controlled chandelier in the dining room; three-fixture bronze lights in the kitchen and eating area and two focused lighting systems for artwork in the family room.

In the kitchen the refrigerator, stove top, range hood, convection/microwave, oven, warming drawer and double sink are all stainless steel.

A gardener will enjoy the three-tier 525 square foot garden right next to the natural gas grill in the outdoor living area. The front, back and side yards are all extensively landscaped and kept green by an irrigation system. The back of the house is highlighted by 20 feet of crimson red roses under the edge of the patio pergola.

  1. If you are interested in golf course communities around the Asheville NC / Henderson NC areas, you must take a look at this home. Wonderful for entertaining, the open plan space at the back of the home looks out onto the flat grassy yard, and then out onto the 14th hole! You don't have to play golf to enjoy this beauty

  7. I like to tell folks who ask if I golf, "I LOVE to golf." This is code for giving new meaning to the word "woods" if I'm out there. That means, I'm, sure, I won't be called to be the fourth, but regardless I do try to stay in the game and really like High Vista -- I have a friend living up there and I'm always welcomed to come visit, and have been fortunate enough to enjoy some of the social community that High Vista offers. Such a dreamy kitchen and thoughtful floorplan...definitely a keeper!
