“Seller Says”

The things we love most about Black Mountain are its friendly people and its vibrant sense of community.  Citizens are involved in town affairs and committed to maintaining Black Mountain's independent character.  The town's emphasis on fitness assures plenty of opportunities for recreation, and support for independent business owners provides an eclectic collection of shops and restaurants.

We like to eat at the following restaurants: Morning Glory and The Artisan in Cheshire Village and Que Sera, My Father's Pizza and Ole's Guacamoles in Black Mountain. The Merry Wine Market in Black Mountain is also wonderful and has wine tastings every week.

We also enjoy many restaurants in Asheville and around the area . Nearby grocery stores are Ingles supermarket and The Artisan deli. Other conveniences located in Black Mountain include banks, a fitness center, hardware stores and an interesting selection of shops and galleries.  In a small town everything is close and convenient.

We were attracted to Cheshire Village by its beautiful setting, its compact size and its sense of community.  We also appreciate the neighborhood's commitment to architectural standards.  We were drawn to the Western North Carolina area because of our interests in nature and the arts.

We enjoy concerts, plays and art galleries in Asheville, and we like the many opportunities for outdoor activities and exploring nature in the area.  We have four seasons in the year with mild winters, pleasant summers and beautiful weather in the spring and fall.

A few other things I can mention include walking through the gardens and along the trails at the Biltmore House, visiting the Grove Park Inn and shopping in Asheville. In Black Mountain the Swannanoa Valley Museum is the only museum of local history in the county; the Black Mountain Center for the Arts provides classes, plays, concerts and other cultural events.

We like hiking and fishing and other outdoor activities. We also enjoy visiting studios in the River Arts District.

Of course we all like different things, and the area provides opportunities for all interests. We are interested in the arts and enjoy visiting local galleries.  We like gardening and grow flowers and vegetables in our neighborhood garden.  Driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway and other mountain roads is another challenging diversion.

Our neighborhood is great for its friendly people and sense of community.  Cheshire Village celebrates with events like the Easter egg hunt, the July 4th picnic, the December hanging of the greens, and monthly socials in the summer.  In addition we can walk to restaurants, a fitness center and doctors' offices.

  1. Cheshire is a wonderful, custom home neighborhood in Black Mountain NC. This is the only traditional neighborhood development (TND) in our county, which provides for single family homes, restaurants, boutiques, townhomes - ie, mixed use as neighborhoods used to be. Cheshire Fitness is across the street, a world-class fitness center with an olympic sized pool. Asheville NC is just 17 minutes away. Come visit the restaurant town of Black Mountain and fall in love with Cheshire

  7. Exquisite natural charm and all the elevated design features and wonderful style expected of the Cheshire homes. By far one of the most thought-out and planned subdivisions in Western North Carolina.

  8. What a gorgeous getaway mountain retreat or residence! I could spend endless porch hours reading art history books on Black Mountain College, and conduct a few plein air painting landscapes amongst the treetops on the patio. I find it quite admirable that a community has chosen to keep with the American Craftsman architectural style and celebrating the hardwood and other natural elements to be loved living in Appalachia. A home true to the rich history of the area. I just adore this home.

This home has a real fealing of privacy and yet is five minutes to downtown Black Mountain and fifteen minutes to Asheville. I love the fact that you can walk to a wonderful cafe in the morning for coffee and a meal.
